Last Tuesday was a monumental day for me. You know how you have those experiences that you say “if I ever had the chance to do that, I would.” Those life opportunities that, for some reason or another, you find excuses so that they don’t happen. I’ve done that with many things – overseas trips, […]
I really do feel like Charlie Bucket, the poor young kid who stumbles upon the last golden ticket from Willy Wonka. I got an amazing surprise on Mon. morning that I never imagined would happen… I GOT THE AMERICAN IDOL GOLDEN TICKET! This is a magical ticket for all who know how insane the American […]
I don’t know about you, but I can easily name the best concerts I have attended. Each experience has made an indelible impression on me and I walk away in awe of their abilities and filled with musical creativity. Last night’s acoustic concert with Mat Kearney was no exception. In fact, I think it made […]
Aug. 3 is approaching quickly and the jitters are about to kick in. Now that I’ve told y’all my plan, I have to follow through with it, right? (Oh my gosh.. what am I getting myself into?!?!) Thanks so much for weighing in on Facebook, Twitter, and this blog with your song choices! I’m overwhelmed […]
AHEM! I have an incredibly serious announcement to make. <drumroll please> I want to be your next American Idol I’ve wanted to try out for this show for so long, but either the 9-5 job or a lack of travel funds got in the way. Last year, I went so far as to try out […]
In case you haven’t seen “Jessica’s ‘Daily Affirmation.’” I highly recommend you check this out. I’m totally making this a part of my morning routine. Sometimes we all just need to tell ourselves that “I can do anything…” Enjoy! Thanks to Jessica (not the girl, but my friend) for pointing this out.
Recently I decided to move into the great unknown: freelance public relations and media consulting. I’ve never pined to be an entrepreneur, but I was approached by some amazing clients and I truly felt that God was calling me to take a step of faith. A step to recharge and reprogram life the way He wants it.
What does that mean? It means that I have a new website that combines both the personal and professional Amy Liz Martin. This personal blog is moving to www.amylizmartin.com/blog. Take a look around the website and also send it out to your friends and family who might want to read. So, I’m stepping out on my own with the support and love of so many of you. And just like the Sam Cooke classic that has been playing in my head: “It’s been a long time coming… but I know.. change is gonna come.”
I’m a worrier. There it is, I admit it. I’m a worry-wart as my mom and grandma used to call it. Ever since I can remember, I pick at my hands because of pent up anxious energy. I tend to take most comments very personal and can’t seem to sometimes calm down. However, the last […]
I’m back! I promise, I won’t let my blog become silent. I just simply haven’t had time. I have been working non-stop the past few months. These times have been filled with emotion, both highs and lows, with good and difficult things coming from the left and right. It feels like there hasn’t been an […]
I’ve been waiting for this concert for a very long time. It didn’t matter that I was tired and sick and grouchy… gosh darn it, I was going to go. And, I’m so incredibly glad I did. Do you ever have those moments were you get so lost in the music that you can actually […]
It has been a weird few weeks and I’ve been up and down emotionally. I’m not quite sure why, but I’m incredibly grateful for the people in my life who have put up with me. They’ve dealt with grace and honesty, and I couldn’t ask for anything more. An example of this is my new […]
We interrupt your regularly scheduled program to bring you breaking news: Amy tried out for the American Idol Experience. Yes folks, she stepped out of her comfort zone. All kidding aside, I really did “try out” at Disney’s Hollywood Studios while on vacation with my parents and boyfriend. It was supposed to be a low-key […]
